A 40 year old Pearl Farmer, Al Camerer, shot and killed his wife,Wanda 37 and then ended his own life with the same shotgun fridayMorning. The Family was unable to arrive at a motive for the doubleshooting , but he had apparently been brooding over something lately,it was reported . Camerer ws well to do financially, having been aformer garage and filling  station operator in Pearl.

The story as told to the News was that after eating  breakfast FridayMorning with his family, Camerer took down  the automatic shot gun inthe kitchen and immediately pointed it at his wife and shot her in thechest, killing her instantly, while their daughter Clara 16 looked on.Dorothy 18 was away from home. A son Harold 17 had gone to the barn tobegin chores and another son Earl 14 had gone to school in Pearl.After shooting his wife he went out on the back porch of the home .there he met Harlod returning to the house. Harold apparently sensedsomething wrong and attempeted tot reason with his father, but Camererstepped from the porch and shot himself thought the heart, dyinginstantly.

Mrs Camerer was Wanda Newingham before Marriage. Surving are the fourchildren at home, his father John Camerer of Pearl, a brother  John ofPearl and two sisters Lucille Sharrow of Pearl and Louise Tamley ofElderd. The bodies were taken to the Hanks Funeral home in Pearl wherean iquest was held by Pike County Official. Burial was at Pearl Monday
