Pearl Watkins Graham, 83, died at 11:13 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 8, 2006, atBarnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis.

She was born on Sept. 13, 1922, in Alton to John and Helen (Everett)Simpson.
She married Robert Watkins Sr. on Nov. 8, 1940, in Old Monroe, Mo.

He died Feb. 15, 1975. She then married George C. Graham and he isdeceased.

She was a homemaker and loving caregiver to more than 50 children. Shewas a member of the Calvary Baptist Church.

Survivors include two sons and their spouses, Robert and Judy WatkinsJr. of Dorsey and Roger and Saralee Watkins of Alton; three daughtersand their spouses, Roberta Joy and Don Helens of Bristolville, Ohio,Linda and Larry Roberts of Godfrey and Mary and Don Burger of Alton;three stepchildren; 13 grandchildren and their spouses, Angela andJeff Watkins, Robert S. Watkins, Roger Dylan Watkins, Eric Russell andShannon Watkins, Kristine and John Geisen, Paula Salmons, SusanHelens, Curtis and Joan Roberts, LeAnn and Kelly Walsh, Ginny andFrank Gifford, Penny and Brian Pettit, Donna and Scott Hall, KarlDavid and Becky Burger; 18 great-grandchildren; one sister and herhusband, Thelma and Jerry King of Bethalto; two brothers, John Simpsonand wife, Vi, of Wood River, and Marvin "Pete" Simpson of Fulton,111.; and stepmother, Dorothy Simpson.

In addition to her husbands, she was preceded in death by her parentsand one brother, Melvin Simpson.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Gent Funeral Home inAlton.

The Revs. Andre Dobson and Brian Pettit will conduct funeral servicesat 1 p.m. Thursday at the Calvary Baptist Church in Alton.

Burial will be at Upper Alton Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the Calvary Baptist Church.
