Announcement was made today of the marriage of Wm. (Tate) Redmond toMrs. Gertrude Bridges. The wedding took place in Bloomington Monday.Mr. and Mrs. Redmond will make their home in Alton.
Mr. Redmond, the son of Mrs. Wm. Redmond of Bluff street is employedat the Standard Oil Co., while his bride is an employe at the Bostonstore. Mrs. Bridges was formerly with Henley-Alden.

W. F. Redmond
William F. Redmond, 2612 Krum St., retired American Oil Co. employe,died at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Villa Terrace Convalescent Home. He had beenill since February when he suffered a parlaytic stroke, and at thebeginning of his illness had been at St. Anthony’s Hospital. He hadbeen a patient in Villa Terrace for four months.
Mr. Redmond, a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. William Redmond, was bornMarch 30, 1888, in Alton. He attended the Alton schools and during hisearly life was associated with his father in the harness makingbusiness.
Later he became an employe of Standard Oil Co., and at time of hisretirement in 1953 had completed 37 years service with the refinery.He was a stillman helper at time of his retirement.
From 1918 to 1919 he was on leave of absence from work while he was inmilitary service. He served with the Army in France and later with thearmy of occupation in Germany.
Mr. Redmond was a member of Alton Post, American Legion and belongedto Veterans of Foreign Wars, and the Annuitants Club of Standard OilCo.
An ardent baseball fan he played ball with the old Kitty League, theAlton Blues and the Greenwood Club, in hi s early life.
Surviving are his wife, the former Mrs. Naomi Yotter, to whom he wasmarried July 8, 1950; a step-daughter, Mrs. Robert Robinson, WoodRiver; a step-son, Gordon Yotter; a brother, Fred, Nutwood, nearFieldon, and two sisters, Mrs. Mildred Sanders, and Mrs. Maude Simon,Alton.
The body is at Staten Chapel where friends may call after 2 p.m.Thursday.
Funeral rites have tentatively been set for Friday to be conducted bythe Rev. Thomas Whitcroft, Episcopal minister, from Edwardsville.

Rites Conducted
With the Rev. Father Thomas Whitcroft, pastor of EdwardsvilleEpiscopal Church, officiating, funeral services for William F. Redmondof 2612 Krum Sst, were conducted at 11 a.m. Friday in Staten Chapel.Interment was in Valhalla Memorial Park.
Serving as pallbearers were Emmett Melling, Ray Tingley, Jack Redmond,Robert DeGrand, William Reilley and John Pinkowski.
